Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Not ovulated?

Hi all, my bitch had her first litter just under two years ago, i used idexx bloods and the litter came from a mating on day 24 of her season. This time the stud is a few hours away so i decided to blood test again, a much needed outcross aswell so needed her spot on. Bloods as follows -
Day 12 was 2.5
Day 17  6.2   (few days apart because of the bank holiday)

At 6.2 i just felt something wasnt right with my bitch, you know how you know your bitch well but dont know what it is, i asked Larry if she was going to ovulate at all. He said its very rare and after doing thousands of these tests he could count on one hand the ones that didnt and he would still have some fingers left.

Day 20 of season which was last Friday came back 7.2, my vet also swabbed and said it looked promising. He did show me and i could see purple broken stones but i dont know what to look for. Anyhow, when the lab rang last sat with the 7.2 reading they said she would ovulate the next day, sunday, and to mate Tuesday. I asked if she should be tested again and he said i could if i wanted but repeated again to me when to mate. I still had this feeling that something wasnt right, checked my girl over and no discharge and no swelling, shes usually heavy throughout. On sunday none of my two boys had any interest and checking her again was the same. I didnt test again Monday as it was very obvious she was out of season :(  Her seasons are always, always 4wks, but not this time.
I have told the stud dog owner and says i have missed her, surely if i missed her her readings would be very high?? Dissapointed but know i cannot do anything about it now but im still scratching my head over this, have any of you guys had similar?
Thanks
Anne

we did 3 blood tests over the xmas period (similar scenarion with bank holidays involved), last test showed ovulation would be day 22/23.

dog was interested and she as up for it, but sadly she missed again. It is a real head scratcher as we have an un neutered male at home, who has never been used at stud and never shows any interest in our bitch in season.

We are trying again next season and leaving her with stud owner for a week to cover hopefully well and get a result.

If we do not get a result this time I will have to say it will probably be a fertility problem with her, don't want to spend hundreds finding out and it is always disappointing when they miss, especially with a well proven stud.

The stud owner has kindly offererd to take her when she comes into season next time aswell. Trouble is i now have to wait another year, oh well.

I posted this approx 2wks ago, my bitch was spotting blood last saturday, then nothing, but last night spotting again and watery pink this morning. Could she be having a split season and if so will it be normal as in 3 - 4 wks?
Even more confused than i was before.

In my expereince yes, I call it a false start to the season.

Although I have had a dog get pregnant on day 30, not a pregnancy we were expecting LOL, 34 days does seem a bit long but umm might be worthwhile getting her bloods tested now!

Thankyou, she is only very slight today and very dark brown, perhaps its taking a while to kick in. I will keep an eye on her.
