Has anyone used Petzlife Oral Gel have been using it but dosen't seem to be very good, what do others think.

It's certainly helped my old dog's teeth - the vet says they're extraordinarily good for his age.

one of mine gets tartar/plaque (never sure which is which!) at the top of his canines. Rubbing this on certainly helps, and pretty quickly too. When I bought it they did recommend some rubbing/brushing the product on to get best results.
Have had good results with it, also used Dorwest Fragaria in partnership with it and a descaler.

I have used it everyday and put it on with my finger do you think using a brush would be better.

No harm in trying. When I restocked @ Crufts I said to the man that I had problems remembering not to allow water for half an hour before, I remembered for after, he said no problem. How long have you been using and how bad were the teeth? All 4 of mine are fed almost the same ( raw but the older 2 do not have wings they have the mince with bone in) and all their teeth are different. Unfortunately I just had to have my 11 year old under for 3 teeth out but will now resume the gel as she has a million dollar smile at the moment!
Good Luck.

I have ordered the Fragaria hope this works as I am just wondering if I am wasting my time but will give it a try.

Did they say if the gel is better than the spray then? I tried the spray and found it did very little other than freshen their breath short term.
Not sure if this is directed to me, but I'll answer- if it wasn't sorry for butting in ;)
I never discussed gel v spray as I know my 4 would not like the sensation of having something sprayed. I would think that the gel would coat longer, but am only guessing.

I have to say Fragaria was rubbish on all of my dogs. Didn't remove anything.
My mum has Pomeranian's and their teeth are a nightmare. My Spanish thankfully keep lovely white teeth for most of their lives.

Thanks for that, and it was directed at anyone. :-) Perhaps I'll try the gel again some time.
I bought a small bottle of the gel at Crufts because the sales person I spoke to, told me that it is better than the spray for getting to the teeth at the back for small breeds. I have used it nearly every night on my dogs before they go to bed and I can really see a difference. I had spoke to others who had bought the spray and they recommended the gel as you can rub it in better with your fingers.

I tried the gel first, but found it a bit awkward with the wriggly dogs trying not to have my fingers poked in their mouths, so I tried the spray. I think I'll go back to the gel again some time. I haven't got any particular problems with teeth, but the back ones are always a bit worse, so it would be worth another try. Specially if it's ok to just take water up after giving them it rather than before as well!
