Well my 6 pups are 3 weeks old to-day and the smallest, the girl has just reached 1kg. Mum has been pretty good all through but has just reached that stage where a bit more encouragement is needed so I stay with her while feeding.
Sounds a daft question because I am not an inexperienced breeder, but the last couple of litters have been very large and we have had to intervene helping Mum etc, ( so this has been a breeze really ) but how long through the night do you let them go, I am pretty exhausted which is fine but would be glad of a long night's sleep. I have a medium /large breed                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      ssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!

Once they start weaning they will go longer because the food isn't digested as quick as the milk, I am sure if they are hungry during the night and Mum isn't around they will let you know.

My only concern would be leaving the small one too long between feeds as she needs little and often to maintain her progress
