I think the time may have come to look for a good blaster dryer mounted on a stand...does anyone have any recommendations or advice on what to avoid?

We've had our challengeaire double k drier for 13 plus years now.It is powerful, efficient and reliable. All in all a good little workhorse. It isn't on a stand, but I've not found that a problem as the hose is long enough.

I've had the Simpson's Powerjet blaster for nearly twenty years and can highly recommend it.  It isn't on a stand but a bracket that is attached to the wall, it can be taken off the wall and set on a bench or floor (won't move during use).  With the nozzle it is very powerful and if you need less power remove it and as motor heats up with us you can finish drying with warmer less powerful air.

As to what to avoid? I would imagine anything less than 1000w my daughter's friend bought one that was about £150 tiny wee thing, it was useless in comparison to this one but until she had tried ours she thought her one was good!

You'd be amazed at the uses we've found for the blaster over the years, for removing dust in shaggy rugs (outside), inside the car, unblocking sink drains, unblocking hoovers, the list goes on lol :)

One of my favourite uses is cleaning behind radiators :)
