Topic Dog Boards / Health / Calcinosis Cutis treatment
- By Merlot [gb] Date 20.03.13 22:19 UTC
Merlot has cushings syndrom and her back is very bad with smething called Calcinosis Cutis. I have her on meds for the cushings but the sores on her back are bad and not improving. I realise it will take time for improvements but have been reserching on the web and found that DSMO or Dimethyl sulfoxide is supposed to help with the calsium deposits. Does anyone have any knowledge of this treatment. I will see my vet and talk about it next week as she is away this week and I preferr to use her as she is my most trusted vet at the practice. She is dealing with the cushings and has Merlot on ABX to keep any secondary infections caused by the sores under controle.
