My girl has a litter of 8 puppies all doing well, one puppy is poorly and wont suckle and had a runny stool. The last 2 days he is losing weight.

day 7 weight 12.5 oz
day 8 weight 13.4 oz
day 9 weight 12.7 oz
day 10 weight 12 oz

I have called the vet who said to try to syringe feed but he isn't trying to suckle at all, I called the vet back to say he had passed a runny stool and will not take the feed. They will see him this evening at the earliest but is there anything I can do in the mean time?

All of the other puppies are doing fine, and feeding well.

Could he have a worm load, that can lead to pups with poor appetite and loose stools.

Hi Rhodach, Thank you for getting back to me, mum was fully wormed. We have just been to the vets and she thinks he has a bit of Gastroenteritis so given fluids, and have Synulox drops and Protexin Synbiotic tablets to give with puppy milk feeding little and often. He has picked up a lot more since we got home.
