I am looking to change my mobile provider due to costs etc.  Tesco seems to have excellent deals, does anyone know how good their coverage is?

All I want really is to be able to make a few calls a month, use text quite a bit - not yet gone on the internet with my phone but would like this option - as cheap as possible on a monthly contract.

I have a Samsung Galaxy mobile contract with Tesco...it costs £15 p.m. rental.
Sorry i can't remember how many call min's/txts per mth but i use mine quite a bit & have never exceeded the limit.
The coverage is excellent & also have internet etc.

I believe Tesco use O2 masts so you should get fairly good coverage.

I think giffgaff does too- I use them and pay £12 per month for unlimited texts and internet and I think 200 mins. Great coverage with them, no complaints.

I'm on Tesco Pay as You Go and have been for years. There are only one or two places I struggle to get a signal, but these are known 'blackspots' for mobiles anyway.

Tesco have had an offer running for ages, when you top up £10, you receive an extra £20 credit free!!! Needless to say, I don't need to top up my phone very often :) I did look at a cheap monthly contract, but to be honest, when £10 of credit can last me for 10-12 weeks, even a cheap deal of £10 a month seems excessive :)

I used to have a great bog standard phone, but it broke last year, so I bought a 'Huawei' smartphone for about £50 (from Tesco, I had a £10 voucher, £10 off the phone at the time, and then £10 of free credit, so it only really cost £20!) and just swapped my SIM card over. It does all of the 'internetty' things that new phones do, but I only use it to go on the internet if I'm in a free WiFi area, otherwise it does eat up my credit.

I can't fault Tesco Mobile for their signal at all, and one the odd occasions I've had to speak to someone, their customer service seemed pretty good too.

Hope that helps

Claire

I have a Tesco contract £15 per month with an HTC phone, 2 hours "free calls per month" unlimited text and an internet amount which you couldn't possibly use. The contract was for 2 years and all was fine until we moved to an area where there is very little signal ( Worcestershire) they won't do anything about it so I can't wait for the contract to end. Before we moved I had good coverage, they do not put up the tariff and I used to be satisfied.
