Sounds horrific! Maybe we will leave the car and walk back to the hotel..& collect later! I hope you are well on your way now!

Someone on FB has been trying for 2½ hours to get out of the West Car Park.

Make that 3½ hours now.

Thats crazy! Any reason why it's worse this year, anyone know? Solution!?!
I have just made it back. Having left NEC building at 5.30 did not finally exit West Car Park until after ten. I'd given up trying to leave and decided to get some sleep until things looked clearer. It was a bit nightmarish, no loos, no way out, just a case of grin and bear it. I couldn't believe how many people sat with their motors on for up to three hours- assume this was because it was cold.
On top of all this journey back on M1 had thickest pea soup fog ever.
I heard there was a really bad accident on the M42, thus blocking everyone in, but not sure.

Oh my goodness, poor you. You did right to sleep, no point in battling. There was a very serious accident on the M42 and the roads are still bad apparantly, I guess that could have caused issues with v long tail backs. This is a good site..
http://www.heart.co.uk/westmids/news/traffic-and-travel/ You can tick what you want to find out about..road works, incidents, cameras.
Glad you got home safely, the pea soup sounds awful.I would be terrified. We have heavy rain apparantly for our drive up tomorrow! :(

Someone on fb mentioned they lacked parking attendants thus people when exiting had no direction for getting out without this mess you've encountered! Hopefully it'll be better over the next few days. Can't believe the serious wet weather warnings over the next few days with the possibility of snow!!
3 1/4 hours to get out. horrendous not an official car park person in site so everyone just trying to join que from from everywhere which just got worse as more people left the building. i got home just after midnight, so tired and foggy rain drving conditions.
thank goodness no dogs with me.
There was no help to hand at all. You'd have thought that an organisation the size of the NEC/ associated car parks, would at least have had some people stay on hand to give out info- the worst part was that the ladies loo block in the west car park was locked. It really did feel like a case of we've taken your money, thanks, not our problem.
I can't believe that they didn't put messages out over the tannoys to tell us that the roads were blocked and no-one could get out of the car parks. At least then we could have stayed in the NEC, got something to eat and done some more shopping until we could move. We didn't get out of the car park until about 9.45 :( Poor dogs :(

I thought my wait was bad enough..I was in the south car park & took well over 40 mins to get off the roundabout & onto M42(around 400-600 yards). Once on M42 it wasnt too bad going 30-40 until J3(where the M40 goes off) then after that it cleared..well apart from the rain/spray!!
Feel for those in the west car park who seemed to have it much worse, waiting hours.
> anyone know? Solution!?!
Yes, allow exhibitors to leave when they want after theri judging.
Now that every breed cna be seen at teh Discover dogs area there is no need to ahve all teh dogs available for visitors to view.
We were finished before Lunch adn my very tired husband was nto ahppy ahvign to hang aroudn even after our eye testign session for anotehr horu adn a half.
It was quite scary how tired he was on the way home, dealing with two main snarl ups adding an hour onto our two hour journey time.

Wow, how horrible. We got out of East car park easily I'm afraid, bit slow getting onto the M42 but then fine. Nasty rain and fog all the way back down the M6 and A14, but overall I feel very lucky - left at 4pm, got home at 7.45 including stopping for fast food and dropping my friend off.

We drove there in fog, and drove home in even thicker fog. You could hardly see if the car in front had taillights on. I was amazed at how fast some folk were driving, it would be so easy to hit the car in front if it braked suddenly. I found it quite scary. This was M5 southbound.

i was in the east 1 carpark and didnt see anyone having a problem getting out and i was there from 5-6pm till 11pm waiting to get towed home lol
