Topic Dog Boards / Health / Shock absorbing boots?

I've asked this elsewhere a little while ago and atm, Ruffwear Bark'n'Boots seem to be the best option but I thought I'd ask here too before I go ahead and buy :-)

River has arthritis in her front toes, fairly badly.  At the moment, agility is totally off the cards (competition is off full stop, she will never be able to jump full height (max size for her) because of this), but although I suspect she'll not be able to do it again at all I am not giving up hope just yet.  So I'm looking around to see if there is such a thing as shock-absorbing boots for dogs.

The club I go to is fun-based and they are happy for me to run her at any jump height I want, so I can keep her low but of course there is still some impact coming off the contact equipment (although she is scared stiff of the seesaw so the impact of that lowering will never be an issue as she won't be doing it, I'll skip the pause table too), I just want to give her all the help I can to keep her going if it's possible - she's only just coming up to 7 and she's a collie X so she's got a long life to go yet and agility is her raison d'etre!

Obviously if I can't manage things well enough for her long term health she just won't do it anymore, and I'm looking at other disciplines but agility really is her favourite by a long, long way so if I can keep her doing it, it would be brilliant :-)

ETA - the second toe on each front foot is deformed, thickened at the base and growing slightly long and bent, not massively so but it's noticeable.  So I need to find something that won't squish them too.  Might end up making something myself but I'm cr@p at that sort of thing so ready-made would be better!!

Have you looked at Neo Paws ? .   https://www.neopaws.com/catalog/dogshoesdogbootsandlegwraps-c-39.html  I used these for Daisy who drags one foot, they are easy to put on and take off and stay on, even in long wet grass. There are a few to choose from, and they do gel inserts for shock absorbency.

Oddly enough just after I posted I found the Neopaws indoor/outdoor boots - absolutely ideal for what I'm after.  Which of course means no-one in the entire UK has any in stock lol!

Bummer, when I first got mine I had to send to America for them as they weren't available here, it didn't cost that much more, will depend on the exchange rate though.

Why not have a look on agilitynet website on the flea market to see if there are any for sale on there - you can also put a wanted request in as well :-)
