I'm going on Thursday as I'm going to a couple of talks in the KCAI careerzone, and going to shop in between.  Thought about going on Sunday to see the GSDs but we're going to the Lakes for a few days so I can't.

Anyone else there on Thursday?

I have two breeds so going Saturday & Sunday. Could be dead by Monday !!!

I won't get there til about 4pm on the Saturday and have been told the stalls will have closed by then. Is it worth trying to get in that late - I know there's still a lot going on. And will they try to charge me the full ticket price on the door? (I'll be there for all day Sunday and have a ticket already).

Will be there on Saturday with two breeds, and YKC!

MsT most people leave at 4 as that is when we are allowed to leave, that includes in DD. Some stalls are open later, but not all. I tend to stay a it longer to avoid the mad rush to the car park -I'd rather wait inside the NEC than be stuck in the car at the same time as everyone else. But I wouldn't bother arriving at 4 pm as a visitor. Don't know if they'd charge you full price.

The times I've done DD (admittedly some years ago now!) we could leave at any time. It was only the exhibitors who had to stay till 4. When did it change? I agree totally that there's no point in arriving at 4pm.

I don't know JG, it's been the same every year I've done it, which I think is since something like 2004. They are very hot on arriving and leaving times (must be there 9-4) and always having the booth manned, they are going round with clipboards checking. HOWEVER, it does not have to be the same dogs and same people, as long as somebody from each breed is manning the booth all day you are free to swap over as much as you like and at any time.

I think it must have been in about '02 or '03 when I last did it with Harry and Beattie; I think the differen breed clubs must arrange it differently because ours didn't want dogs doing more than 3 or 4 hours on the stand so each day was organised for change-overs at frequent intervals, and when you'd done your shift you were free to leave, and the pass-out ticket was printed allowing departure at any time.

Main arena has events going on til almost 9pm including Agility large final, HWTM Freestyle winner, Breeders Competition final and of course the Gundog group. I was thinking it might be more fun than twiddling my thumbs in the hotel without internet access (they charge £10 per day for that). Have always loved seeing the Breeders on live streaming, and it might be my only chance to see the Freestyle as there's none on Sunday. I don't think you need a separate ticket for the Sat evening, that's just for BIS.

Toss up then, between trying to sneak in on the cheap or paying £10 for the Wi-Fi!

Yes I'll be there at the ring watching as I've not got any entered.  There are a few Briarlow dogs there for me to cheer on and lots of friends with their dogs.  Will be weird to only watch though :)  Come and say hello.........

Mrs T, Hold out about the wifi till you are there.  You might be lucky and hit a wifi hotspot.  There's not many places now that DON'T have wifi for free.  I'm lucky as my windows phone finds free wifi itself to save me the bother.
I'm not going this year :( I made my decision ages ago but now I really want to go since you are all getting excited.  Feel like I'm missing something.
