This morning my girl has dropped her temp from an average over the last 3 days of 38.2c to 37.5, she refused her breakfast and has been loosing some mucus. She had a bit of a clear out with a soft poo earlier and she was a little sick this morning and did not want to go out for her short walk. All good signs that things are on the move (Due date tomorrow) However she is calm and quiet, little panting and just lying under the office desk sleeping on and off. I would be expecting more aggitation and digging but she is very calm. The breed is known for some "Diva" type behaviour (Her Mother wanted everyone rushing around behind her while she tried to dig the whole of the downstairs floors up !!) and although I have whelped both Labs and GSD's (Not this breed) before I have never seen such calm acceptance for this breed. Do you think this is just a very early start and we maybe have another couple of days to go or are we lucky she is taking it all in her stride. It is a first litter for her. Both her Mother and Grandmother made much more fuss....If indeed she is in 1st stage labour she is coping admirably with it.

Sorry computor is being sporadic at the moment. No pups yet, lots of heavy panting and bed shredding for the last 2 nights but we are stil waiting. Vet happy to give her anpther 24 hrs as long as we have no odd discherge, she is a maiden and the breed is notoriously  slow !!

Good news Aileen. Shame one wee one didn't make it but sometimes these things happen for the best. Hope your girl is doing well. Our Bramble was from a litter of 9 girls and 1 boy :-)
