Do any of you feed your dogs raw fish? If you do, what do you give them and do you just hand it to them in it's natual state? I'm on a raw diet- yes I feed whole raw fish once a week- My boston's will eat it just fine- where my dane cross won't I have to grind it up.
I feed smelts, herring- any oily fish really.
most popular types of oily fish are: salmon, trout, sardines, swordfish, whitebait, fresh tuna, anchovies, eel, kipper, mackerel, carp, bloater, smelt, bluefish and sprats.
Hi Guys,
my lot are on a mixture of Fish4dogs and Natural Instinct. To try and keep costs down they get a meal of Natural Instinct or chicken wings in the morning and Fish4dogs in the evening. I am currently adding Sainsburys tinned sardines in water to their dry and they love it. Is there any harm in giving sardines everyday? I am alternating with tripe in their biscuits as well but they love the sardines. My two 30kg dogs get 1 tin between two :-)Just curious if you are already feeding Fish4Dogs am assuming its all fish basically why offer a lot more fish? Isn't it better to offer different protein? Just wondering. As for tinned fish i'd be very careful due to the salts they use to help preserve it. A lot better to offer a whole oily fish maybe once or twice a week.
