hi, i want to get my boy a birthday cake, he's 11 next week but so far I haven't been able to find one he would like.  it has to be a meat based cake and with very little decoration, maybe just 'happy birthday' on it. any ideas anyone?

i want him to enjoy his birthday treat as i'm far from being a mary berry!

Thanks LJS, i may attempt baking a cake for him one day and that recipe looks fine but i was looking to buy a cake from a dog bakery type place for this birthday.

I made this one earlier in the week - It was my rescue girl's 2nd "gotcha" day (anniversary of her arrival, as we don't know her birth date).
Cake
Just a normal recipe for liver cake, baked in a ring-shaped tin. Primula cheese around the edge, with bacon flavour mini-bones stuck on, and decorated with blobs of cream cheese and swirls of Primula on top.

They each had a small slice, then the rest was cut into small pieces and frozen for training treats.
