We have a girl at our training club who will be 13 next month. She is great with her dogs - she has a border collie who she has her KCGC Gold with and a GSD who she's so far got through to her KCGC Silver award. We get on really well and she helps out when I need any demonstrators for my puppy class. Anyway I'd like to get her a little present for her birthday but I haven't got a clue what to get her - I only have boys!
Anyone have any dog-mad girls who could give me any ideas?
As she's got a border - why not get her shepherd's whistle? She sounds like the sort of person who would enjoy learning to use one - and obviously it would be fine for the GSD too. Colliewobbles sells a lovely ramshorn one - but I don't know how much you want to spend. They have lots of other collie stuff too. I am sure she will appreciate the thought & treasure whatever you get her. A really good dog toy might be good - like a bungy one w/ real fur or a nice fleece one.
Her dad is already teaching her to use the shepherds whistle - he works the collie on sheep. I'll have a look on Colliewobbles though - having GSDs myself I know very little about the collie world!
Hmmm, not a bad idea. Though I do prefer to get people a gift, if you know what I mean. I just feel that putting the effort into finding what people like is as much part of the present as the actual item.
Is she a member of the YKC, members get magazines, free entry to Crufts and DD, and the oppertunity to compete in YKC classes.
I have got my own children personal mugs, pens etc from Vistaprint with a picture of their own dog on it - they have all loved these gifts as they are so personal to them.
I'd choose her a book, it is always nice unwrap a gift, girls are easier than boys as they like all kinds of 'girly' bits and bobs too, purses, brushes, combs, smellies, just about everything ......
