My 6 year old rott is justgetting over her teca op,the very same day the buster collar came off she started shaking the head again and itching the right ear(the one she had done the year or so before).shesnow licked her paws to a terrible state, and i feel awful cos i never noticed her doing it even though i have bee watching her like a hawk incase the collar had come off to early ect.now shes limping and going BACK to the vets in the morning...what on earth are they going to think of me!!!

ive been reading up a bit that it can be casued by stress...i bandaged them both up and that worked fo a whole day.i took off the old bandage replaced it and an hour later she was ripping it off.so put new one on maybe it was bit tighter i dont know, but that came off too.so now shes without bandage cant go out and i just dont know what to do with her anymore

google is a marvelous tool!
The term Total Ear Canal Ablation or TECA is used to describe a procedure used to manage severe canal or middle ear disease in dogs where other methods of treatment have failed. The full name of the procedure is Total Ear Canal Ablation with Lateral Bulla Osteotomy (TECA + LBO) but most surgeons use the term TECA for convenience.

The procedure is described in detail below, but a TECA essentially involves the removal of the diseased and infected ear canal whilst leaving the hearing organ itself (the inner ear) in place. The middle ear chamber (tympanic bulla) is carefully inspected by the surgeon at the time of the operation and any abnormal tissue or material is removed

Hopefully your vet will have sorted the soreness out . If you had itching drying ears  that drove you mad and you couldn't reach them , where could you reach to lick ? Your paws . She does sound stressed . Keep her occupied .Filled Kongs . Play . Walk (as long as this isn't coincidence and there's salt  down where you walk ). Your vet might recommend Bitter Apple to put on her paws  to discourage her.

What is se currently being fed? Have you ever thought maybe its a food allergy? My boxer girl was continuously licking her feet to the point they was bright pink. I took her to the vets trying to find out the problem and he couldn't find one. I then come across a group for raw feeding. After reading through many posts and speaking to alot of raw feeders I was shocked to discover how many people's dogs licked there feet till they was sore! It turned out since changing there dogs diets from kibble to raw the problem had stopped. I now no longer feed my brood kibble but raw only and the results are fantastic! No more feet licking, no more limping, they seem happier healthier and jst so much more content.
