Can anyone suggest some good nail clippers for a toy breed.
She doesn't like having her nails cut so something quick and easy please !

I use Mikki ones, got them in Pets at home years ago and they're quite small.

I have some little black mikki guillotine ones which are fine but it takes me a while to weigh up how much I can take off and to position them.  I recently got some from amazon - Wahl smartgroom EZ nail - they are more like a scissor style so you can use them any way around, they have an adjustable plate to stop you taking too much off, only takes a wriggle with the mikki ones and the nail gets cut too short.  These also have a little dremmel built in to file nails, great for taking off any ragged bits.
However, the main reason I got them is for my springer who is a wrigglebum.  Unfortunately the guillotine style is actually better for her as the cutting the nail upwards does not pinch whereas side to side does, she is a sensitive soul!

I don't like the guillotine ones, too easy to take too much off if the dog wriggles at the wrong second. I use pincer ones, just ordinary ones from a pet shop, not sure of the make.

i use the mikki ones but not the guilotien ones the sissor type ones as i use to use that gilotien types with my rabbit and kept having problems with it not cutting the claws but just bending and snapping them where as never had a problem with the sizzor type.

I reasontly tryed a cheap pound shop nail grinder thing and i realy liked it and think ill buy a better one. I thought my girl would freak out over it as she doesnt like having her claws cut but she was fine, ive only stopped using it as its a cheap one that doesnt work well and keeps stopping. I liked it as i can take off tiny amounts and have actualy started using it to do my birds beaks now for that reason.

Mikki blades are very thick making control difficult.  Resco guillotine clippers are much finer, quality and precision made, and with the blade nearest to you (rather than under the ring) you can take the tiniest bit off each clip.
Scissor type clippers squash the nail and leave rough edges.

Another vote for Resco guillotine clippers from me. They are well made, you can replace the blades and you can easily see how much to take off. My lot have big tough nails and the Resco clip them cleanly.

I got the guillotine type for big dogs after years of using the scissor type and I can't get on with them, I guess it depends what you're used to, maybe i havent got the wrist action! For little dogs &/or dewclaws I sometimes use a short scissor type which I think are also good for other small furries.

I used the scissor type for yrs as well. The guillotine ones do take a bit of getting used to but once you've got the hang of them I do find them much better than the scissor ones, they don't crush the nail and I have found I don't need to use as much pressure either.

Another vote for the Wahl smartgroom EZ nail,  I got mine from Amazon but very easy to use and I don't worry about taking off too much with these.
