I struggled getting my bitch to eat much at all with her first litter, as the morning sickness was that bad. Well I suspect she is pregnant again (3 1/2 weeks), and it's back, so I'm struggling again. Some have suggested ginger biscuits, does anyone have experience of this? Any help much appreciated. I think I will switch her to puppy food early so I know she's getting enough calories.

Royal canin puppy mousse was my Savior at this stage :)

Try Fish4dogs salmon mousse, great standby for under the weather/fussy dogs and can be stored in the freezer as it takes up very little room.

Thanks, I'll order some tonight. Last time she was like this I tried salmon and scrambled eggs but it gave her horrible problems and she was 8 weeks in whelp so was very uncomfortable.

I put my girls dry food in the microwave for just long enough to warm and release more smell, and split into breakfast and teatime meals.  Now at 6 weeks she is voracious.

Would you believe I never imagined, thought of or knew that dogs suffered with morning sickness.  It must be so awful for them I remember it so well (god knows how or why I had 3 children) lol

Except with them it is the middle trimester as it's the implantation stage that causes it in both.

Last time she had it almost all through the pregnancy, it was a royal pain. I'll try warming it up a bit and see if helps.

I have a bitch that has been mated 3 times since last Wednesday. She has been sick in the night and quite a few times through the day. She has not eaten and apart from looking fed up she seems fine. I am a bit worried as have not experienced this before and was told it could be as she has caught and would be morning sickness...all day sickness. Does anybody else agree and do you have any advice please. It is just yellow water she throws up. Poor thing. She is a 3 year old dogue de bordeaux by the way and this would be her first litter :-/

That's very soon to be having morning sickness I think? I would talk to your mentor and your vet. My youngest bitch has been throwing up bile a lot, then she had a lot of blood coming out the other end, took her to the vets within the hour and she had colitis likely from a virus, so best to be careful.
I know with my girl it is all day sickness and not just morning sickness.
