Having fed my dog with F4D for the last 4 years am now beginning to think I will have to change food is this because of the changes they have made? why you may ask in the last 6 months he has had a itchy back that I really cannot get to the bottom of , he has been to the vets, phisyo , hydrotherapy he is not itchy anywhere else on his body had slides taken at the vets no mites no fleas so frustrating am now beginning to think maybe an allergy and the only thing he had is this food, as he has in the past a real dickey tummy which I think is down to rice! Have been looking at foods and Simpsons seem to be good anybody using this? Have re-posted this as it seems everybody is fed up with F4D thread xx

Hi Butler 1. What is F4D
Have you seriously considered changing his diet to raw meat. It seems that so many dogs these days are having problems with the dry "complete" cereal based rations that so many vets unfortunately promote.
I know that not everyone can cope with the raw issue but there are many suppliers and pet stores who supply easy to use raw meat. Change over carefully, I have never found this difficult. You may be surprised with the result and a happier healthier dog  with less problems too.
Having said that a friend of mine had a dog that was constantly scratching, the poor thing had no peace it made me itch just watching him and at one stage his coat was thinning badly. There was nothing visible on his skin no mites, no fleas, no lice, I suggested she spoke to her vet and requested a treatment of "Advantix", the result was a much happier dog with no scratching or itches. !!!!

Haven't used their fish rations, but have used the lamb and Rice quite happily, use it when I can't get AG Lamb at a comparable price.

Have you noticed this one.    http://www.simpsonspremium.com/breeders?product_id=85 It's fish based: Deboned Salmon(21%), Dried Herring(21%), Deboned White Fish(17%), or http://www.simpsonspremium.com/80-20?product_id=82 Chicken Turkey and Fish: Deboned Chicken(27%), Dried Chicken(16%), Deboned Salmon(13%), Sweet Potato, Potato, Dried White Fish(7%), Dried Salmon(5%), Dried Turkey(4%), Chicken Fat(2%),

It is pricey (£48.50 and £44.80 on breeder price for 14kg), but not compared to other high protein grain free high animal meat/fish based products

I use the Salmon and Potato, it's 31.20 a 15kg bag if you join the breeders club.

I am pleased with it and one of mine who has digestive problems is doing well on this (famous last words) and I was beginning to despair.

Bob and Lush look good too but I havn't tried them. I keep getting phone calls from Oscar foods ..not sure why? I must have spoken to them at a show or something :)
