Has anyone else had experience of sinusitis in dogs? My 8 month old puppy Rye was under the weather yesterday with a drippy nose which became progressively worse until by this morning the discharge was yellowish, thin and with a familiar metallic smell to it--exactly what I used to notice when I used to get sinusitis.
She has a slightly raised temperature and wasn't eating or drinking, though I've sorted this by hand feeding her and raising the water bowl to a height where she doesn't have to stoop. The vet has diagnosed sinusitis and thought ABs should sort her out, though it may be fungal in origin in which case a longer course of treatment is in order.
Given the time of year I wouldn't have expected this to be caused by a grass seed, but obviously I'm concerned that she hasn't got anything up her nose. Any advice would be appreciated.
