The worrier in me is curious as to how breeders with newborns on the ground would deal with a power cut. The only thing I can think to do is get out the gas stove and boil water for hot water bottle wrapped of course. What would you do ?

Bodyheat from mum or myself, puppies in bra and sleeping on chests etc, done it with sickly ones to keep an eye on them. but probably hot water bottles boiled from the oven too.

Gas stove, generator or in my case coal fire.  Where i live power cuts are part of life i choose to live here with no gas or mobile phone.  You simply 'gear'upfor any eventuality. Ihave done it!

Cover the whelping box to stop heat escaping.
