My dog had suffered with colitis for years, every other day her stomach would rumble and gurgle and then she would go off her dinner. Soon after that she would have an upset stomach and jelly poop and some blood. I took her numerous times to the vets without any luck.
Try advised me to change her diet or a more sensitive one I tried several without any joy.
Until I used vitalin senstive dry food, and the secret is to mix wet meat chappie with it and water I keep it moist. It has worked for about a year know without any problems.
It really is that simple, please give it a try if or dog is suffering too as it may help too.

I knew a greyhound with the same thing and tinned chappie helped this dog too. She suffered for years before they found chappie to be the best for her. Thanks for posting your experiences as it could help someone else going through the same thing.

Its good to see that you've found your remedy and this thread will be useful to other people. I had a similar problem years ago with one of mine having a terrible red meat intolerance which ultimately displayed similar symptoms as colitis. After much trial and error looking at diets (so many white meat diets use red meats as a coating) and starting off with chappie wet to stabilise I found that the fish4dogs diets, treats and mousses were my/our saviour. Fish and fish oils are all that my lot get now as its easier to feed them all on the same diet and they have all thrived over the years thank goodness as its so sad to see them so poorly. I've now become quite boring about diets.......as you can tell!! Haha! Good luck!

Ever since I owned GSDs I have been a huge believer in tinned Chappie Original it is great for dogs with problem tummies - still keep a few tins in the cupboard in case mine get a touch of the trots, 24 hours without food and then onto the Chappie, never known it fail.

Its good to see that my post may help some people and others have found it also helped them. My vets wanted my dog to have all sorts of tests and put her on medication etc. Also telling me she should go on the most expensive Hills special diet, (I fell for it as I just wanted to help her) and it did not work for her.. Please, try the Chappie wet food first it really did change her life, She does not have any issues now.. Also I agree that if your dog has an upset stomach, I also leave her without food for a while then use Chappie wet food and yes it works..

Yep another chappie for sensitive gsd tums here too . Now I raw feed and current dogs don't have tummy issues but would recommend chappie but wouldn't read the label I am sure its not good but works
