Hiya everyone, just really wanted to know which websites you guys use for stuff like fishoil, best for price, delivery etc.,  I'm thinking of putting my girl on after getting a touch of arthiritis this last week and now on Carprieve, i thought i might help.

Try simply supplements,or zipvit.

We used VetUk recently. We thought they were reasonable for what we wanted, and very quick. It all came well packaged and considering we ordered several different items, by the next day.

Simply Supplements here too.  The one I use has 500mg Glucosamine and 400gm Chondroitin.

My Beardie has 3 a day with food and it has improved things and she really looks more comfortable.

Quality ingredients in high doses and no fillers that will cause other problems.  The same manufacture (different label!) as used by professionals.  The difference between cheap and good value quality products. :)

What problems are those ?

Chalk - Magnesium Stearate stops the body from absorbing the vitamins that you're taking and there is talk that it can compromise the immune system along with titanium dioxide that's used to colour. 
Some use coal tar to colour too - fine for putting on rooves but not good to ingest.
Hydrogenated oils - we've all heard that they aren't good for us.

These are commonly used in cheap vitamins manufactured today. :(
But you pays your money and takes your chance - each to their own - I was just passing on practitioner information. :)

Yes - it does :) I don't give 'tablets' but capsules and those, apparently, aren't full of fillers.

I'll look at Nature's Best next time I am purchasing - I'm not choosy about which site I buy from :) :) :)

They can commonly contain hydrogenated soya oil.

I buy mine from Holland and Barrett, the salmon oil - as it has a higher DHA level than generic 'fish oil'.

So if the label on that vitamin bottle says "salmon oil," and you take out a soft gel and look at it, you would think it's filled with salmon oil, right? This is what most people think. This is common sense. But in fact, it is incorrect.

You might be amazed to learn this, but that soft gel may not be filled with salmon oil at all; it may have a miniscule amount of salmon oil in it, but the rest of it is just filler. It could be soybean oil, hydrogenated oils or some other form of filler.

We can't assume that just because we buy from a well known company, be it chemist or health food shop, that the all the products that they sell are good quality - it doesn't work like that.  :) 

I have a practitioners account and buy from the professional side of Natures Best - the same product in different packaging!  Supplements are an absolute minefield and so rather than try to convert, I'm hoping to encourage those interested to do their own research. :) ;)

Likewise on the salmon oil, I even spoke to the company to double check, and they do state on the literature 100% pure salmon oil.  I grab it in the buy one get one for a penny sale.
Used to buy the joint care too from there for both my mum and one of the older dogs, worked well for both, lol.

Hi. My old dog had arthritis, the vets tried him on anti inflammatory which did not seem to work and were very expensive. The I spoke to my friend who is a very and she said use Cortaflex HA. This is the brand name and can be purchased for dogs, horses and even humans online  just type in Cortaflex for dogs. I was a bit unsure at first but thought I would try. I put him on them and he was a changed dog, his movement was much better and continued to use them. Up to the age of 11 he was getting comments on how fit and good he looked for his aged. He was a pointer and lived until he was 13 (a great age).  I know use them for my other dog now.
