i wonder if anyone can give me some advice, i had my bitch mated last week, i'd had her swabbed and we were told which would be the best days to have her covered, now it wasn't the best of matings as the pair didn't actually tie, but having read up i understand that a tie is prefured but not absolutley nessarsary!!
   i have just noticed that there is a spot of blood in her pee a week after her mating........... is this normal??

First, there is no guarantee whatsoever that your bitch is pregnant after a slip mating.  I would never charge a stud fee to anyone if the mating had not ended in a successful tie. 

Second, vet visit.  Could be infection.

A week after mating she is still officially in season, so probably what the blood is.

thank you both for your replies, to be honest at the moment i'm not too worried about her, her temp is normal and she is as happy as can be, if not more than normal, i too was concerned it maybe an infection but think she would be showing other signs of being poorly......... i will keep a very close eye on her.
