On leaving the mother in laws on Saturday we saw the Siberian Husky that has moved along the street from her. Hubby was reminded that his Mum had been speaking to the girl who owned it. She had proudly told her that her husky was deaf but he was fine in other ways......he had just fathered a litter of pups if she wanted to buy one, they are only £200. The mother of the pups is a dalmation!!!
Anybody want one!!

Back in the 80's we bought a pup from the pet shop window for £5 (!!!!).
How can a mongrel be worth £200 ? A person I know sold a litter of 5 mongrels for £250 each - a fool and his money.

Dalmation pups can be deaf so not a good match having a deaf sire even if it is another breed[ is deafness common in huskies too?],wonder what that combination of pups will look like.

Someone on a FB group, flagged up an internet ad for a Schnaubermann ( Schnauzer x Dobermann ) with some ridiculous explanation of the merits of this cross, something about the big bark and intelligence of the Dob, combined with some other nonsense about the Schnauzer, mated to.....wait for it.......a Husky !, which brought looks and endurance to the mix ( so they claim ).
Apparently, the dam has a very soft mouth which will make her puppies ideal hunting dogs lol, that's not the end of it though, you too can have one of these wonderful, unique dogs, for the bargain price of £ 9,000 !.
Honestly, you couldn't make it up if you tried, where the chuff do these people come from, I just hope it's a scam and these dogs don't actually exist.

Very odd price!
Their spelling and grammar are a little odd so maybe this is a mistake.

No huskies are not prone to deafness, they are very prone to selective hearing though ;-)

Yes, that's the one Tectona.

Maybe, but I wouldn't bank on it, the amount of private ad's on the internet, where people seem unable to even string a sentence together, is a joke.
It could be from a foreign source though, which could tie it in with being a scam, and explain the odd wording ?.

Gordon Bennett. I wonder if anyone will be stupid enough to pay that money for a mongrel?! They could get 13 wellbred, show quality pups of my breed for it.......

By putting in that link, you have just advertised the litter to an even wider audience.  :-(
- By Brainless [gb] Date 05.11.12 16:07 UTC
Mine too Marianne, and that is with parents (who may be champions) hip scored eye tested and prcd=PRA tested
- By Rhodach [gb] Date 05.11.12 16:32 UTC
I think all breeds have selective hearing.

Those are true mongrels, they have now introduced a 3rd completely different breed, this could have been achieved by just letting the in season bitch roam the streets and mate with every intact male she meets.

That has to be a price mistake.

I was under the impression this is a well informed audience; none of the responses seem terribly enthralled with the cross :p but figured it'd probably be removed. Ya never know, some sensible person may have seen it and offered some friendly advice, for all the good it would have done. Tis pretty insane.

> I was under the impression this is a well informed audience;

the danger in posting links is that anyone doing a google search say on the subject, breed etc will come up with champdogs postings and be led straight to the sort of adverts we would want to discourage.
- By Tectona [gb] Date 06.11.12 21:30 UTC
Of course I understand and agree with that point. But if you're googling that kind of thing what better place to end up than a place filled with well informed posts such as this :) But yes, I do understand.

For those who have just come into this, the link has been removed understandably,
But for the people that read the threads and click on the link, for every click it chucks the link further up on google search. so if someone searcehed the site the link was on that would be further up then say a pom x chi because 300 Champdog members had clicked the link to have a great laugh at the rediculous nature of it. meaning it was on top of google so people searching would ee this page befor any other!!!
Unfortunatly we are to nosy to not click the links!!!!
So I did and a schnuser x doberman x HUSKY!!!
Thinking of buying one for nearly 10k and breeding it with an akita to make it even rarer!!!!!!
LEa :D

The last time I looked through puppy ads, shar pei crosses were rife. Such odd combinations.

Just thinking of a name for a schnauzer x dobie x husky x akita melts my brain a bit.
