I was wondering if anybody has come across anything like this. My friend's puppy is having her first season and has mysteriously started to leak wee. Couple of times it's almost like she's had a full wee whilst asleep, but she also leaks while she's awake.
I suggested to my friend that it could possibly be because she's in season and everything is a bit soft and loose around the back, but the vets don't seem to think it's possible.
She's had lots of tests with nothing showing for now.
She's had a very heavy first season [not a mild first one, a proper heavy bleeding]. She's a small breed.
Understandably my friend is very worried :(

I have not come across this before but wonder if it could be cystitus?

Cystitis would be my worry too, with the heavy season it would be impossible to tell if there was blood in the urine.  This is one situation where I'd be asking for antibiotic cover.   Bitches don't often show much discomfort until it is really bad, the most likely sign is weeing in inappropriate places and leaking urine ;). It can still be very painfull though.

She's had a course of antibiotics but they didn't do anything, so it's unlikely to be cyctitis.
She had some alkaline in her urine which the vet put down to too many carbs in her food, but that can't be the case because she's on full Barf and doens't get any carbs!
Anyway, I talked to my vet today [who's very good] and he said he'd wait and see what happens when her body returns to normal and if leaking still continues he'll see my friends pup for further tests.
