Did you no that dogs can eat Raw Almonds & Raw Walnuts? I had No idea, thought nuts were bad.... Hmmm

What a brilliant article by Dr Becker, This article should be made available in all of our vet's surgeries so more people can understand the feeding needs of our animals. Unfortunately our new and young vets these days are "conditioned" into believing that dried or kibbled foods only are the best for our pets, "convenient" yes, but not the best !!

A bit surprised to see Almonds as the nuts of plums and related trees are said to be poisons.

Hmm, she's not wrong but there are far better sources for dietary advice and this article is designed to appeal to 'people'.  Of course it should, I hear you say, as we are the ones that choose the food for our pets, BUT our dogs and cats have different needs to us and the distinction of living and dead foods isn't helpful....

I'd much rather we advocate other sources of information such as Ian Billinghurst, Tom Lonsdale and Kymythy Schultze (there are others too).  Anyone considering changing to raw would be well advised to research a variety of sources for good background advice then you can start working out what best suits your dog.  It also gives you the information you need to respond to vet questions about your pets diet - I'm not sure many of them would be convinced by Dr Becker's article, she's a tad woolly
