ive been using jwb since my dog was a pup, and now with her puppies, but they dnt seem to like it no matter what flavour or what i mix with it, so i was wondering with than may brands out there, its hard to decide, so ive herd of arden grange, burns ect ect which 1 would u recomend.
I used Burns with my first litter but they seemed to get runny tummies from that so switched tehm to Beta which worked fine
My second litter I used Fish4dogs and was delighted as were they
i just bought the burns food there aswell, i dnt want to keep trying them with different foods,
I weaned on arden grange for both litters. The pups liked it and it soaked nice into puppy milk. I mixed a little wet food in as well. I tried Pedigree puppy loaf after it was recommended on here for the 1st two weeks then had to swap to cesar as they completely went off the pedigree. Bums and tums were fine and mum ate it as well with her meals
i bought the burns, but they didnt touch it, so ended up bk on the jwb, i have herd the grange is gd,
Mine did well on it. Have you soaked it. Did you mix a wet food it and is it sloppy enough for them.
Are you asking about puppy food to raise a litter on?
I know the staff at my vet practice are cursing JWB ... apparently there are some varieties that have changed recipe recently, puppy could well be one of them. Might explain your problems.
I've raised pups on Arden Grange Puppy/Junior alongside Fish for Dogs Puppy. Am very, very pleased with both. This year's litter I decided I wanted to use Burns - they had very runny poos. So, went back to AG and F4D. However, I'd bought a 15kg bag so was determined to use it. What I did find was that the Burns did not suit the pups at all for the initial solid food they had, but I reintroduced it when they were 6 weeks, alternating one meal Burns, the next AG, and then they were fine on it.
F4D I would recommend, but they too have recently changed formula, I haven't checked the puppy food, but if it is a new recipe I will be watching the forum and posters comments as to whether it's as good as the original :-)
I do recommend the AG though, and whilst I like to give my pup people a choice of foods, that will remain my base feed.
have you tried www.millieswolfheart.co.uk
ive changed from F4D and my remmy loves it! and eats less so really happy
ive seen they do a great deal for breeders and on their facebook i see new puppies being brought up on it now so cute to see it all mushed up for them like babies and porridge

have a look at www.whichdogfood.co.uk, its really informative about certain foods, Ive been using Skinners Lamb since July and its been great, my bitch has always had tearstaining, and now for the first time in 9 years she has a beautifully white face.

Are your pups not around 6 weeks now? Surely they have been eating some type of complete?
I have the same breed and wean mine on Royal Canin. I don't think you can beat it really and I have never had an issue with pups eating it. Also, by this age, my pups will be eating it dry. No water in it at all. Obviously, keep water bowls nearby(for them to make a mess in and paddle and flip over!!lol). My litters will eat the complete on it's own and dry but I like to add stuff to it occassionally too. I put raw minced meats in with the complete. Tripe and chicken are favourites.
pups are now 8 weeks on sat, and all leaving lol, yeah they eat the food dry, and like wise i add chicken ect, i ended up buyimg the arden grange and they love it, so happy with that result, really going to miss them and their own little characters lol, my OH starts to well up as every day get closer lol
THEMUSSYMUM - I'd sort of come across Millies previously, but your post did shove me to have a closer look, so thanks for that. They were very helpful on the phone, samples arrived today and scoffed for supper by 'intolerant' girly ;-) I reckon if there's going to be an adverse reaction then it'll be in the morning :-O Joined up to Breeder Club also so that should I go ahead and order a bag I'm all ready to go on those rates, after the initial minimum purchase amount. Sadly can't afford to feed all the dogs this but 3 out of 6 wont be so bad. The other 3 are all doing extremely well on their Skinners Duck and Rice :-D
great news trailist
