By 6 weeks, my pups have usually tried a variety of meats/fish. I also feed meaty bones(usually chicken wings) but obviously be careful when feeding bones at first. I feed a meat meal which can be tripe, beef, chicken or rabbit. I like to feed the chunks instead of the mince by 6 weeks but I feed the meat raw. I also feed scrambled eggs. And I feed fish(which I usually bake in garlic butter). I like to put a few marrow bones in the whelping box(or outside if it's warm/dry enough) to keep them busy too.
Goats milk is a nice drink for them too.

Ditto cracar,
My routine at 6 weeks is 6am scrambled egg for breakfast made with goats milk (not cows as it can cause an upset stomach)
A bowl of aired goats milk,
They will then have a couple of meals of chicken, mince meat or white fish alternated with either rice or soaked complete puppy food. Along with soaked puppy food meals also.
In-between they will at this age have chicken wings to play tug with and eat :-D (fed raw, frozen first and then left to defrost ready for feeding time) My pups love their chicken wings never to be left alone with them though, after 2 hrs the dam is let in to clean up any not eaten or hidden in the garden.
At bedtime they will also have another bowl of aired goats milk (pasturised)
At 8 weeks I also leave a very small bowl of dry food down for them to nibble if they get hungry during the night too, it's always gone when I get up and stops them from crying at 4am if they are awake and I'm not, not so bad in the winter as it is still dark, but in the summer they wake early and my girl does not spend time with them that early on.
My girl always stays on the puppy complete for approx 4 weeks after the pups have gone to whip her back into tip top shape the dams still need the extra vits, minerals, proteins etc as most will still be allowing pups to suckle for a few mins up to the pups going. :-)
yeah been giving them goats milk since weaning started, i was told 4 meals a day for them and obv still feeding off mum, what time do u recomend to give last meal at ?

I give 4 meals per day but they get other stuff in between(like bones or chick wing/legs). So it's probably more like 6 eating times as opposed to 4. I feed meals at 8am,12noon, 4pm and 8/9pm. I have written that approx as I don't stick to a schedule as it's too tying for new owners. It's not the end of the world if you are an hour or so out, especially if they are getting other treats like the bones or kongs.

I'm roughly the same, 8am, 12 - 1pm, 5pm and 9 -10pm, then bed at 11pm.
yeah thanks to u all, i just wanted to so i was doing ryt,..brainless, just when u said bed at 11, at 6 weeks old, is it normal for them to wake up near every 2 to 3 hrs? i know their little bladders cant hold much for long, but mine didnt settle till 12ish, then up at 3 then half 5 then 7,, and every time they wake up thru the nite its like the WWE with them all lol, is that normal

I don't know once I am in bed I don't get up to check on them until 5am at the earliest, they are in a puppy pen big enough for them to be able to wee/poo one end (I use a deep bed fo shredded paper so they keep pretty clean) and sleep the other.
Due to neighbours I don't allow mine to go outside before 8am (which is what they want), so I ignore them until then, as expereince has taught me that they will bellyache more if I go to them. Mum can attend to any of their needs until then.
I checked with the neighbour that they were less aware of them yelling in the kichen than if I let them out very early, where they would inevitably start to play and make a noise.
Oh as someone else does I do leave a small bowl of dry food for them overnight.
My feeding times are different, they start at 6am and finish at 8pm, ending with a bowl of goats milk at 9pm, pups are worn out and they all toddle off to the whelping crate and crash out between 9- 10pm at the latest, lights are out and they are in darkness.
I cover one part of their room with newspaper where they will leave their den to toilet in the night, I will add extra dog beds and fleeces on the floor of the rest of the room as the pups do get up in the night, go to the toilet and then often crash where they want not always making it back to their nice warm den. When it is dark my pups do not generally play, in the morning I find most in the whelping den and the odd one scattered on a fleece or a dog bed.
If your pups are full and warm they will not generally make a lot of noise in the middle of the night, my one winter litter did not stir with noise or play until I got up at 5.30am. (Heaven :-) ) Summer litters are different they can be up and playing at first light.
Just wondering if you leave a light on and this is why they get up to play in the middle of the night? If so turn it off and give yourself a good nights sleep. :-)
Tommy are the pups going out to play during the day at regular intervals ? I have a large breed and as soon as the pups were up on their feet I started letting them out in the garden for a run round, then back in for thier feed and they would all toddle into bed and fall asleep.
While they were out playing I would clean the pen and change bedding and get their food ready, it also helped as I started to get them used to the whistle, a couple of soft pips on the whistle and they soon all got the idea that dinner was ready.
Last thing at night I would let them out for a last play, they were all very quiet, my husband would go out with them with a torch, and then I would whistle them in and tuck them up with a gravy bone for the night, there were always a couple of cheeky beggars that did not come in straight away and would hide round the back of the garage, that is why the torch came in handy.
They slept from midnight through till about 7.30am. By eight weeks I had very few wet papers and they were all coming in to the whistle. I put the same type of whistle in my puppy packs so the new owners would be able to carry on the training. Hope this helps.

To be honest my lot will spend most of their day outside, if I didn't make them come in at night they'd probably stay out, LOL
They get most upset if I make them come in for too long during the day, regardless of weather, which is why I made them a covered gazebo this summer by turning one of the dog run panels at 90' so that it made a 6 feet wide by 10 feet area which I could cover half of.
A sky varikennel was used as a den and a plastic dog bed, and a garden bench so Mum could sit on the bench with them.
We spent a lot of time on the bench when it rained, and got through a lot of towels!
Mine was a winter litter, and I had thick curtains so that no light came in too early. Good Luck you need your sleep so that you can cope through the day.
all of u thank u so much, my OH has said all of this to me lol, ie we should this, we should do this lol obv being a man i dont listen,. yeah they are out playing when not raining as iam in glasgow lol, like i said the lastest they go down is between 11 and 12, and the light is out and have the black out blinds and thick curtains, id say the most they slept was from 12 to half 5, but again thank u for the time and advice. :-)
