My Nans had them for years , and all of hers have been lovely , great with people and other dogs . We were only talking about this last week , how a lot of people say Shih tzu's are better all round , but my Nan who has owned both found the complete opposite.
I also grew up with one called Callum he was adorable , not a bad bone in him , he loved everyone , and was great with other dogs especially his best friend Jodie a JRT .

I groom lots of them, all are very sociable and amicable with other dogs we have in the salon.

Their KC Standard requires an aloof temperament and yes they dont fling themselves on strangers but are friendly enough these days.

Not aggressive but they are barky and can be slow to housetrain. You can keep several together with few problems but the modern day Lhasa doesnt have a pet owner friendly coat and most will be happier clipped off regularly.

Make sure both parents have clear, current eye certificates.

Most of the ones I groom are friendly little dogs and pretty patient when I have to deknot them. You get the occasional snappy one but that's more when the owner has spoilt the dog rather than a breed trait, I feel.
