I am afraid the show ring has to take a certain amount of blame. The cream colour, has become very popular, and dare I say it, almost the norm. Many people will say this is not true, but Iam not so sure. You still tend to find that the working goldies are a darker gold, and they tend to be of lighter build; longer nose, not so chubby faced. However if you want a pet dog you may find a working strain quite a handful.

Don't like to agree with you Sally as you well know but in this instance I couldn’t agree more. Most in the field are what I consider are Goldens in the style of the old school. They also have brain, which means they need to have their brain exercised as well as their body. Left to their own devices and you will have a hooligan!
