The 2 Shetlands have been here a week tomorrow and have settled well. I think we must be lucky as they are very gentle, love cuddles and not one kick or bite. The grand kids are looking after them and have the responsibility to feed and groom, and actually they love the job and can't wait to get out there before and after school ( lets hope the novelty doesn't wear off) They walk them on leads like large dogs, talking to them all the time.  They ( the horses - not the kids ) have been vet checked and are now insured with Pet Plan at £12.47 each a month ( £5000 vets fees cover each ) Wish the dogs were as cheap.
Luckily the horses seem used to dogs and have rubbed noses through the fence with the Boxers but I don't think we will chance letting them meet.
We are thrilled to bits with the new family members - animals add so much happiness to our lives
