Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Raw feeding - suppliments

I've been raw feeding for a good few months now and I'm looking at adding suppliments but i'm not sure what should or shouldn't i add?
The dogs are on chicken & tripe in the morning, with lamb, beef, turkey, rabbit, heart, liver, fish etc meals in the evening, with an egg & yoghurt added once a week
They don't get veg or carbs, unless we have left overs

I like to use Dorwest Herbs for natural medicines for the dogs and wondered should i add keepers mix to their food, i use garlic & fenugreek when little rashes etc pop up but they did say i can use it daily for general well being
I've also been told oil of evening primrose is good

I just don't want to add too much and over load them but i also don't want them to be missing out! Any tips would be great

I've not been raw feeding long, but to make sure my dogs aren't lacking anything (because I don't trust myself) I add supplements to their veg meals (2 or 3 times a week).  I've been adding 1000 mg fish oil, 400 iu vitamin E, 500 mg vitamin C, Dorwest Keeper's mix and apple cider vinegar.   I know a lot of people just add Keeper's mix, it seems to be a great 'catch all' supplement.  Are they getting any bone?  I worry, probably too much, about not feeding too much bone but still giving the right amount of calcium!!

i add keepers mix,tho probably only 3 times a week,i just dust it over the food,as it has a strong smell-never seems to put them off, though!.I used to add kelp, but ran out, must order more!I dont give mine yoghurt, but I enjoy blitzing raw veg for them. Id be interested in what others add,as well!

I have only one dog on entirely raw (the others are half raw/half kibble) and he is allergic to so much stuff that I am very limited as to what supplements I can give him. I have started giving him coconut oil though as he can't have fish oils and that seems to do a good job.

I do not feed any suppliments to my raw fed bunch. A good mix of various foods has all they need.

You shouldn't need any supplements, with a good variety they will get what they need anyway.

With a good balanced diet you shouldn't need to add supplements but each dog is different.  I have one with nail problems so he definitely needs the correct amount of liver each week (zinc) and he benefits from salmon oil too.  Another dog has skin issues and he does better with some garlic and fenugreek tablets added in.

Keepers mix is a good catch all if you have no particular dietary deficiencies or health concerns...
