What do others use? I like panacur but never had pups that haven't weighed a kilo before. Do I half the dose? 2.5% is discontinued so I have to use 10% will this be ok on tums.

On reading your headline I thought they had brought out toys to worm dogs.

Provided you use a very accurate syringe to measure the Panacur 10% and can get accurate weights pre each worming then there shouldn't be a problem, sure toy breed breeders have posted here re use during pregnancy and for pups from 2 weeks old and only a small amount to give due to concentration.

Ooops, same as Rhodach, clicked on to see what wonderful worming toys been invented :-)

Get a 1ml syringe to use in the early days of Panacur 10%, these have graduations of 0.1ml. I'd recommend getting a few decent ones from your vet, I have bought syringes online before and have found the plunger parts company with the rubber quite often! Normally when you really need to use it.

I'm sure JeanSW uses Panacur, she's got toys! She's clever, she might even have worming toys ;-D

If you look on the side of the Panacur 10% pack you'll find instructions for worming Kittens, they are often weighed in grammes/ounces rather than kilos, so small pups should be fine  ;)

As others have said, use an accurate syringe and weigh them accurately before each worming ;)

I'm shouting yes from the hilltops!  :-)  :-)

I have never bothered with the 2.5% because you need 4 times the dose, and I see no reason to make an awkward job of it.  I think lots of us have ended up with the Panacur all over us at some time or other.

I'm known for wanting the easiest route, and my pregnant bitches get it mixed in with poached fish, but I can't do that with 14 day old Chihuahuas.  I guess the smallest dose I've ever needed is 0.02ml!  I buy packs of 10 syringes from hyperdrug.  They have never let me down like some makes.  The 1ml syringe is very easy to work out the dose.  Although, as tiny doses seem to be my speciality, I do tend to receive emails from people, telling me how many grams the pups are, and will I work out the dose!  :-)

Well I love the idea of Worming Toys, lol. How convenient it would be, maybe a worming chew that delivered the dose while being gnawed :)

Have used it in the past on Pomeranian's and never had any problems with it.
