i have 4 large breed dogs ranging from 2 to 9 yrs, they are all fed on fish4dogs but in the last month they are all acting like they are starving crying for food and gulping it down , i fed the recommended amount but it is not filling them , i just wonder if there is anything else i could add to their food to fill them, all the dogs are on the lean side but they get loads of exercise and are wormed regular , thanks

Is that good lean, or underweight lean?  I know it seems a bit obvious but if they are all extra hungry at the moment (and it's probably a phase) can you simply increase their food?

In this house, good weather means we often stay out a bit longer for walks, and long warm evenings mean my dogs stay active for longer during the day so it's not really surprising that they need a little more food.

Do you feed kibble?  If so try giving them an extra 5 or 10g per meal and see how they get on.  Incidentally I find manufacturers recommended amounts can often be off by quite a bit...  If you feed raw, try adding a frozen chicken wing each day.

Are they losing weight? If not then bulk up their food with frozen sliced green beans, fills them up and takes a while to digest.

Are they getting more exercise than normal? It is unusual for all the dogs to be having a hunger period at the same time.

Think I would just increase their food whilst watching they do not get over weight, the recommended amount is just that recommended some will need less and some more. It is always worth remembering that not all dogs will do well on a food even if it is a quality one, for example mine always loose condition on Burns but do well on AG.

all the dogs are good lean except 1 she is what i think is underweight but the vet says she is ok, she's been the same weight for the last 2 yrs since i had her scored, i will try giving them a little extra and green beans , thanks for your replies

The green beans are only if you don't want them to gain weight, otherwise just up the food if they could do with a bit more weight.

Are they a coated breed?  I just noticed that this year the dogs have been moulting non stop since March due to this on and off again weather, and they do seem to need more food, especially the youngster of 18 months who I had to up back to puppy levels.
