Hi All,

Just seen a rather dodgy ad on a Facebook group for three chihuahua bitch puppies. One was black/tan but there was no pictures of the other. The poster was VERY defensive when I asked what health tests and KC reg they had. They just kept saying 'They are pedigree' to all my questions.

Just thought I'd put a post up in case anyone has recently sold a puppy or had one stolen.

I find it really odd that anyone would need to advertise 3 bitches if they were from decent stock.  The thing I love about the breed is the fact that you get 1-3 pups in a litter, and there isn't the problem of keeping more than one back to see how they develop.

To make it more weird, when someone asked if they could see parents, they commented 'ALL SOLD NOW, THANKS' and then deleted the whole thread! Keep your eyes out, please folks. Bit worried about these (If they even existed!)

Josh they were probably just pet-bred as so many dogs are nowadays, and the fact your questions were met with a repetitive answer means the owners were probably being defensive about the fact they were not health tested and probably can't be KC regd.

We've gone beyond the Nigerian scams of non-existent puppies being offered at silly prices, to real puppies being mass produced as a black market cottage industry.

Wish someone would expose all this.

Actually, with no parents at all to see you may well be onto something parrysite, even puppy farmers will generally drag out a dam from somewhere, dogs are stolen every day this could very well be a stolen litter or just a complete scam with no pups at all. Might be worth pointing this add in the direction of the breed clubs as well. :-)

Just in case............. can't think of anything more wonderful than having an owner re-united with their litter.

People on here have had dogs stolen they all end up somewhere..........

Unfortunately since it has been deleted I no longer have even the name of the person posting it!! There was something very suspect about it. Especially as they were being sold for £300.

If I see the name again, I would recognise it. May get a friend to post a 'wanted' ad to see if they get in touch!!

Perhaps not the add its self but the response to questions was very dodgy.
