One of my puppy's on sunday evening hurt his leg limping so monday take him to vets, vet thinks he may have sprained it or broken the top bone gave him a some of metacam and he was running around until now now he is limping again.If he had broken a bone he would not be able to use it would he at all.Might have to have it xrayed he is not yelping at all. What do you think he is 71/2 weeks old any advice please.

X-ray. I made a huge mistake once with a kitten. She fell down the stairs and started limping on one front leg. It didn't go away but she DID use the leg all along and we could touch it so I figured it would improve in time and couldn't possibly be broken. Eventually she stopped limping so much. It wasn't until she was adult that it became obvious that front leg was in fact shorter than the other and then she limped badly again. Turned out her shoulder had been broken and of course by then it was far too late to put right and she limped for life. The shoulder had healed badly.

Hope you have your puppies insured. Dogs are stoic about pain , not like us where a chip  or fracture might give us lack of use , pain and swelling. It should have been suggested that pup on the metacam might  have be' cage rest only' ,  even carry out to do ablutions .The vet can feel a certain amount but it may need another visit and an Xray ,. I have no idea of breed or your family circumstances  (children or not ) but my pups are fed , rested , with guided supervised play .

If this pup is part of a litter supervised play is difficult in the play pen, you can't at 7 weeks be there all the time you are too busy cleaning up.

I had a kitten that broke his leg leaping out of a 2 floor window. He landed and walked off, he climbed into his bed and wandered around my flat... But I just couldn't believe he was injury free so I had him xrayed head to toe and he did have a very badly broken leg. I would get the pup xrayed

Good news pup has not broken leg had it xrayed vet found nothing wronge just seems like he pulled it and made it hurt.
So glad he is alright now he is running about normally thank goodness.
