Topic Dog Boards / Health / Wormed then sick , what should I do ?
- By Cani1 [gb] Date 21.07.12 18:53 UTC
I wormed my Nan's pup for her about 4.30pm with panacur 10% , gave him the correct dose for his weight. He had some food about an hour later , managed to keep it down about an hour and then has been vomiting . He is fine now but I'm wondering will I need to worm him again ? He was supposed to be wormed with this wormer from his breeder 4 weeks ago , I would of thought he'd be okay.
Any thoughts appreciated .

Is the worming regime over several days? If it is then continue tommorrow, chances are the pup will have absorbed todays dose anyway as time elapsed between giving the wormer and the dog vomiting.

How old is the pup? I worm at 2,5,8 and 12 weeks with Panicur 10% and had no problems of vomiting.

He is 13 weeks , almost 14 now. Yes it's a 3 day course , I will worm him again tomorrow. My nan has just called to say he stole some of her older dogs food so maybe thats been too rich for him mixed with the worming which won't of helped.
Thanks for your reply :)

I would worm him in the morning so if he is upset again it will be over before bedtime.

I always use panacur, but I worm at 3, 7 and 11 weeks.  Then monthly to 6 months.

I always worm after food to avoid upset tummies.
