Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Fish 4 dogs-anyone have experience with it helping arthritis
- By streetmutt [gb] Date 09.07.12 10:28 UTC
Been advised to add fish oil to my dogs diet (AG) but have also been looking at fish 4 dogs and wondered if anyone has noticed if it has helped with dogs with joint problems. There are other reasons I've been looking to change to it (cereal free, dog with skin allergies) any advice appreciated.

Any effect a bit of fish oil is going to have on arthritis will be very minimal to non existent.

The biggest visual effect for my Collies has been the coat and skin quality since feeding Fish4Dogs, which my vet attributes to the Omega 3.   My eldest girl also has Glucosamine/Chondroitin capsules with her food.  3 a day with 500mg being the former, and 400mg for the latter.  Many combined supplements only have 100mg of the Chondroitin.

You need to give them time to build up, but my old girl is moving easier, and collapsing less on the tablets.

My old girl has Fish4dogs + Newmarket Joint Supplement, and she's going pretty well on it in spite of looming arthritis.     She has been on both for quite a long time, so guess there is a cumulative effect.

Do you already use Glucosamine and Chondroitin? I've had wonderful results with it and my arthritic girl and know lots of people that have seen real benefits after a couple of months of using it. I've been able to stop using NSAIDs with my girl now.
