My pup is currently fed on a food I cannot access here. When he is imported I will have a supply of it but will need to change him eventually to something I can readily access. The breeder and I will discuss this but currently I'm just looking online so thought I'd bring it up...I am thinking of feeding Acana puppy. What are people's thoughts? My adult dogs do great on it and love it.

All you can do is try the new food, don't buy a big bag in case it doesn't suit, see if you can get samples to try.

Leave the pup on the old food for a few days after arrival as you don't want to upset its stomach whilst it is settling in and getting used to different drinking water and new home etc.

Then over at least a week change over to the new food and an increasing amount each day till they are just on the new stuff.

Sorry I wasn't very clear, I know HOW to change a dog from food to food just haven't had a puppy in a long time so was looking for suggestions for a brand of high quality large breed (not giant) puppy food that people are pleased with :)

Orijen do a large breed puppy and it's made by the same company that produces Acana. IMO they are the best dry kibbles on the market.

I reared my last litter on a combination of raw and Orijen and was really happy with the pups. As far as I'm aware in the UK Acana Puppy isn't available, don't know if it is where you are?

you can get it on www.zooplus.ie so I presume you can get it on the UK site too :)
