What do people think of joint ownership and what experiances have people had with them good or bad

I can add one recent experience I've not mentioned before. Dog bred by me was in joint ownership with two people, one I didn't know before, one I did. Dog ended up being unwanted and was in poor condition and because it was in joint ownership my friend was able to get hold of it far easier than if the person it lived with had had sole ownership. Thank goodness for that........
