Can I ask for recommendations of a company that does speedy delivery and a good price ?
And am I right in thinking that it doesn't go down the hole of the ear, just dust it on the inner flap ?

Pup is just starting to scratch one ear so I want to be pro active rather than wait for a problem.
Thanks.

Buy my directly from Miss P Bett in Norfolk, I think she is to do with the manufacture of it. I have the address if anyone wants it.

I tip about half a teaspoon into the cap of the bottle, lift the ear flap up and tip it in, aiming for the ear hole.  Then I hold the flap of ear closed quickly (since dog will want to shake) and wiggle ear around, to work it as far down into ear as possible.  Then I let go and allow dog to shake as much as it wants.  Have used it off an on like this always with no probs and no trips to the vet for ear issues either.

Half a teaspoonful?  Is that not too much?

I've used Thornits for quite a few years and never use more than a small amount on the handle end of a spoon as I was told that's all that is needed!  Am I using too little? I've never had to go to the vet with ear problems in all the years of using Thornits  on my two much missed dogs I sadly no longer have and the two I have had for just over four years.

Would agree that's too much, always been advised to use much smaller amounts. Use a small paint brush, wiggle it around in the powder, gently knock of excess and then into the ear & massage.

I use a teaspoon end and it is just enough to cover the rounded end. It is put in once a week.

I use it the same as LJS. I suppose amount would vary on size of ears, mine are big girls but a pinch would probably be enough in a toy breed.

I have been using Thornit for about 4 years now and have never had any ear problems during this period. Before this, I was always in and out of the vets for various ear treatments with one of mine, none of which did much for long. I had known about it for some years, but felt very uncomfortable about putting powder in ears, decided to give it a go, so pleased I did!  Dogs have nice clear ears and I must have saved a lot of money on futile meds!

Amazing stuff, best of all the girls are happy with me using it, some of the vet meds, my Lucie would go and hide as soon as the bottles appeared!

It is funny my girls don't mind it either and form an orderly queue!

I think it is the ear massage they like as they are very vocal when I do it !

I use about half a teaspoonful, because most of it ends up on my hands, the outside of the ear, and the floor (!), so to get a reasonable amount where it's supposed to get to, this seems to work!
