I studded my lhaso apso back in August. About 1 1/2 weeks ago I saw the female and she looked a bit chubby and her nipples are out. Her owner says she slowed down a bit and is cuddly( which is normal for her), she also said she has developed a little "attitude". I just saw her today to bring her a whelping box and we are iffy if she is pregnant. She will be due anywhere between October 14 and 18. Her owner said she vomits on and off, Her nipples are out and a bit bigger, her vagina is swollen but she doesn't look to be pregnant in her belly. We felt around alittle and at one time thaught we felt something(which could have been wishful thinking). I am concerned that she reabsorbed the pups or is having a false pregnancy. I have been doing a lot of research and found out that I had her positioned wrong when I was trying to feel around. I am confused about false pregnancies also because some articles make it sound like the symptoms don't really show until around the due date, which makes me hopeful that it is not false because her signs started showing soon after they mated. The dogs mated two time and tied for about 20 minutes. Can anyone give some advice?

I'd get her checked by a vet, just to be sure that she has not got an infection. She may be in welp or it could be a phantom either way I'd have her checked. Ja:)kie

It is not a good idea to "feel around" if you don't know what you are doing in case you do any damage - this is unlikely because of the protective sacs but is possible. It is also very difficult to feel anything at this stage. If you are at all concerned get her checked by a vet

Thank you for your quick responses. I contacted the vet. I am awaiting a call back from the owner of the dog to see if she will do the x ray. I hope she will because I am not the sit around and wait type. I was real excited about breeding my dog cause it is something my husband and I have wanted to do for a long time cause he is a nice looking and sweet lhaso.
