Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / finally did it! How many hrs between breakfast and supper?
- By dollface Date 25.05.12 12:59 UTC
I finally got my boston's on schedule feeding which is nice.
They eat in the morning with Moose and again at supper, but supper I add something different.

Their supper meal they get their kibble mixed with a table spoon of one of these, each day I alternate it so always something different.

about 4 pieces of green tripe http://www.k9natural.com/all-products/item/10-green-tripe-fd
Sometimes I also add some apples, carrots ect
They all seem to really enjoy this.
Never thought I would like schedule feeding but I have to say I Love It! I no exactly how much they eat and they eat what I give them.
Junior (boston terrier 12 yrs old) is a lil more picky sometimes he will eat a cup in the morning, other times only half a cup- but he does eat all his supper.

Is 6am to 6pm to much of a wait between feedings?

well done , my pom x is fine on that kind of schedule but if you are worried being a smaller breed could you go 6- 5 ?

Trouble is that if you cut breakfast - supper gap you are making a bigger gap between supper - breakfast :-D

Junior sometimes does not eat breakfast (12yr old)- no interest at all- other times he does. He has eaten breakfast during the week
but this weekend no interest- think yesterday he ate maybe a mouth full.
He's weird- He's just not as active as he use to be during the day- I no my lil tyke is getting older. :-(
T-Bone (11yrs old) she eats both meals, if there is some kibble left in Junior's at supper she will go and eat his.
If he left a lot I'll just refrigerate it for the next meal- due to the stuff I add into it.
I offer the boston's 1 cup each twice a day. Later on in the evening I offer them a doggy biscuit prob around 7:30-8pm.

Sometimes I do offer supper between 5:30-6pm- all depends. Basically I feed them every 12 hrs.
