I have a bitch who is due next monday. She is a small breed bitch.
I took her temp today, as she is due next week. Came out at 36.4 ºC / 97.52 ºF . I am now worrying myself something silly, could this be the drop? it seems quite low for a normal temp... I don't want her to have them this early!!

hi i took my girls temp a few days before labour began she was always around 37.7 but early hours it dropped to 36.2/4 not too sure now
and she had her puppies that afternoon, i know temp can rise and fall before labour just keeping checking her temp and look out for any signs of labour.

Some bitches routinely deliver before 63 days and the pups are fine.

Unless you know what your girls temp is normally then it is hard to say how much it has dropped by;

Our dogs don't read the books we use for guidance.

I just thought it was quite low to be a normal temp?

Are you taking the temp at the same time everyday day?
I no that sometimes if they have been playing, eating, sleeping- ect can change the temp.
Maybe take it 3-4 times a day at the same time everyday like 8-12-4-8 and record it- will give you a better idea.

Puppies from a week before due date are perfectly viable.

I only started taking the temp yesterday as she is due next monday, i normally start a week before this result just threw me, I have taken it again this morning and it is 37.0 !!

37.5 today!

still up then my girls dropped to 37.2 then went bk up you will know when you get the big drop
how long has she got left
