Anyone else had problems with this supplier?  I ordered a whelping box 3 1/2 weeks ago and was told it would be with me in 7 days.  Nothing arrived so last Friday I rang and was told it had been posted the day before and would be with me imminently (Bank Holidays taken into account).  Six days later, still no box so I rang (went to ansaphone) asking where it was.  Give the bloke credit, he did ring back and said it should have been here on Tuesday.  However, he was a 'one man band' company and had some personal problems to sort out.  Fine.  But as a customer I don't care.  He has had my money up front and if he can't cope with the business, change the website or suspend trading he needs to keep his customers informed.  I asked him to contact his shippers and find out where the box is.  I (stupidly) assumed that ordering 4 1/2 weeks before pups were due from a website that states "7 day delivery" was allowing plenty of time.  I do remember this trader being recommended on here which is why I chose him.  Anyone else waiting for a delivery??

Looked at various suppliers of whelping boxes recently.Reviews from a popular internet site did say that 'waiting times' was an issue with your supplier.

No consolation but I had a brilliant service from him.

Ordered a bespoke box and run at short notice and it was delivered on time.

Me too, and always very prompt reply to emails when I had questions.  Ordered mine 24/4/2012 and it arrived Tuesday 8/5/2012

Thank you for your input.  Celtic Lad - wish I had seen the comments you refer to before I ordered.  As for good customer service.....my measure of that is how someone deals with a complaint. He didn't seem prepared to do anything to remedy the situation until I made it clear that I wanted an urgent resolution, gave him a deadline and even had to suggest a course of action to sort it out!  If it doesn't arrive by tomorrow I made it clear that I wanted a refund (he processed my payment on the day I placed the order over the phone - told him when my bitch was due and he said that the box would be with me in 7 days).

The good news is the whelping box arrived this morning. I asked the courier when it had been despatched and he said it had been picked up yesterday for delivery today.

Good customer service then?

No, as he told me eight days ago it had been despatched the previous day (10 days after the day he said I would receive it when I placed my order).

Maybe he got you mixed up with another order?

Anyway all turned out well in the end and I'm sure you'll be very pleased with it.

Now your panics over you can relax and enjoy your litter when it arrives :-)

I ordered from him to FYI.  I ordered in December 2011 and puppies were due at end of January 2012.  I made that really clear.  He promised he would have it to me in plenty of time.  I am in USA - Kentucky. So this was an international shipment. In addition, I had to travel to the vet about 200 miles away for C-section (long story) so I wasn't home and had to leave - no whelping box!  Numerous emails were exchanged.  Oh, he said he had mailed it and it would be there.  Well, it wasn't.  Finally it came, but I was already gone.  I had my husband overnight it to the motel where I was staying.

Mr. Steel City told me he had mailed it on time - long story short - he had not.  The UPS waybill showed it had been mailed just a few days before.  He tried to blame it on UPS but he did not mail it on time and then he had mailed it to the wrong address too.

Such a shame!  The whelping box is really nice - worth the trouble but if you decide to order one, I'd order it way ahead of time and pretend your puppies were already born and you might get it in time.  He ended up refunding me the shipping, so he did not make much on the deal.  I don't know what his problem is.  He really has such a good product, but he just does not seem to have his act together.  I wouldn't hesitate to order another one, but I would do it WAY ahead of time.

We do not have any whelping boxes nearly as nice here in the States, not even more expensive ones, in my opinion.  So, when you order, you just need to know these things so you can plan accordingly.

Good luck! Happy whelping and many healthy puppies. :)

As you say a warning to make sure people have everything well in advance.
