Just a quick note to say that I have an extremely fussy 2 and a half year old large breed and just out of curiosity I thought I'd try the Vitalin Fussy eating formula when I saw it in a shop I don't usually go in. Good god he demolished every bit!. It smelled really nice when I opened the bag and was lovely and moist. I know it's not exactly a high quality food which is why I was probably so suprised by his reaction to it. Thought I would put a quick note on for anyone with a fussy dog.

Thanks! I'll try it. My picky princess is thinking about going off her latest food (kibble mixed with a boiled egg.....)

have never had a fussy eater , had a Rough who liked to take his time  but did eat it all in the end. I now have a 13m old male beardie who is driving me bonkers.
With my girls I can put thier food down .. turn around and its gone.. this boy is a slow eater fair enough but he drops food all over the floor  making such a mess... then walk away leaving most of it... I have always fed AG and decided I would change over to Naturediet ... wow.. thought I had found the solution that he prefered wet and dry.... the girls are in their elements and love it he has now started leaving the meat and just eating the dry... GRRRR... its costing me a small fortune...
I would normally just leave him too it and take it away if he doesnt eat it as I know he wont starve himself .. but being so young he was loosing weight and it wasnt good for the show ring as he was too thin. When the girls are in season it doesnt help!
I have now purchased some purina one which he is eating...>without the meat< once this show in Scotland is over I have decided I am going to get tough with him ... he will not beat me    ... she says!!
May have a look at the vitalin... ta

Epic fail for the picky princess, she reluctantly ate a few pieces than refused to go near it. I put down a bowl of her old JWB next to it and she is tucking into that rather than touch the Vitalin. Think I'm going to ask for a refund!!

Maybe you could make it into biscuits if you baked it in the oven with some liquidised liver or a tin of pilchards LucyDogs. Mind you, I'm going back a few years when Vitalin looked like muesli and could be substituted for flour.

No, this stuff looks like meaty chunks of kibble, different sizes and colours. Looks ok to me, but clearly not to Hetty!

Now your problem is not to over offer , always keep them so they turn the dish over looking for more ... and pick up food when they have left it .If you have a veteran who wants to eat small and often it can be covered and reintroduced later .
