Heya just wondering which one would be better for pups?  I have a litter due in just under two weeks. Your opinions would be grand thanks :) x

I had a heat pad, IMO it was a waste of money, and didn't seem to generate alot of heat, although I spose it could  just have been the one I had. I resorted to hot water bottles

I did think hot water bottles but thought a heatpad would be easier. How often were you topping the hot water bottles up? X

Petnap heat pad is super have used in on a few litters now with great success. The petnap is perfect as it isn't too hot and provides a good constant source of heat.
Hot water bottles need to be topped up every 2-3 hrs, this is why I prefer a good heat pad. Plus if puppies get too hot the can easily crawl away from it.

We were just refilling as and when we felt they were getting too cold, so I guess every 2/3 hours or so

Don't waste your money on snugglesafe or anything that relies on you needing to top up the heat.

Hot water bottles, stuff you warm in the microwave etc is not a constant heat.  Electric heatpads are constant (and are not hot to the touch), as it is the weight of a pup that generates the correct heat for that pup.  I have reared 2-3oz pups using the constant temperature that you get and would never use anything else.  I did start with the vinyl rubbish, but gave that away.

The flexiguard petnap is perfect and indestructible.  I love them, and I've tried everything (including overhead expensive heat lamps.)

If your litter is actually due in just under 2 weeks, you needed to order before now!  She could whelp from day 56.

Check out how good the flexiguard is

i got a petnap electric heatpad with two covers for my last litter and it was the best thing ive ever done, it was lovely to see the puppies all gather on it, and its one less thing to worry about knowing they are warm. Also it used hardly any electric and mine was on 24 hour a day, i would defo reccomend one.

I have heat pad and snugglesafe (bought it when we had just one puppy as I thought the snuggle doggy cover would give pup something to snuggle in to). Also got hot water bottle. I've found the best thing is the over-hanging heat lamp. It is adjustable and puppies go closer or further away from the heat depending on the temperature.

Puppies arrived earlier today and I am using my Petnap mat for the first time, however I,m a little worried as the electric plug does seem to be rather hot,has anyone else had this happen?
