Sorry, if this is a bit long. Kloud the lurcher did a wee this morning which was totally blood coloured. She has done one more like it since, but after that all wees today have been normal. She is 100% herself, eating well, playing, barking running around. No tempreture. Yesterday she chewed up and swallowed a bit of old lino, which is red in colour, and the colour runs out of it the moment it gets damp. Do you think the dye could have coloured her wee|? If she had shown any sign of being unwell, I would have taken her straight to the vets as I was thinking along the lines of urinary tract infestion or something along those lines. Any comments would be welcome please. Thanks.

I would say it is a definite possibility, just think what beetroot does to humans. Ingrid

I suppose it's possible the lino dye passed through her. I have taken medication that colors the urine, so why wouldn't dye?

I think the best indicator is how she is in herself and if there is anything else out the ordinary. If you are worried in the morning, it wouldn't hurt to take her in. :)

Hi, I think it probably is the lino. If she were mine I would hang on and observe her carefully, as you have been doing. If she stays 101% well and happy and it doesn't last more than a day or two I'd not bother going to the vet. If you feel you should though, contact the vet I mean, then you must, or you wont be able to sleep!!! Hope she's ok tomorrow :-)

Thanks all, its now just gone nine, and she is still 100%. If anything strange happens tomorrow I shall visit the vet, otherwise will wait and see. Thanks again :D

could be philippa, my bitch ate some loo paper wich was a kind of orange colour and her wee looked a bit blood stained, but she was o.k in herself, kept a eye on her to see if anything else was amiss, she was fine,regards tina

She'll be fine Philippa Kass has ate half my lino and is perfectly fine:) Infact some of the things she's ate amazes me that she is still fine:rolleyes: If she seems okay to you then I'd say she'll be fine- must have been the dye:) So long as she chewed it up properly so it can come back out:)
