I found this advertised the other day whilst browsing business for sale...

http://uk.businessesforsale.com/uk/Established-Dog-Breeding-Business-For-Relocation-For-Sale.aspx

It appears you pay several thousands of pounds for a "breeding unit" complete with bitches, some already "covered" and the only qualification is that you have space in your back garden!!

I am utterly appalled and saddened that those thinking of this could even contemplate such a thing!!

Puppy farming for the masses!!

What a horribly chilling concept :(

if this is the one i think it is, it produces mass puppies of the designer sort,

That's just disgusting. Maybe you should ask admin to edit the link out though because it's a bit of extra free advertising for them. I'm sure not everyone who reads the thread is going to be as appalled as regular posters.

Good idea Pookin, sorry I don't have my thinking cap on today!! Don't know how to contact Admin, could somone give me an idea how it's done please? Thanks

You can use the message centre.  Just address it to Admin

totally appalling - but they're saying that you don't need a 'license' for this 'size' and yet are offering a pre tax 'profit' of £15k... now maths and I aren't necessarily best of friends, but knowing how much I don't 'make' from a litter I'm wondering how four litters a year could possibly create an income of this amount.... the dogs are allegedly health tested and presumably they're going to charge for all this... so how can they make any profit, let alone £15k????
- By itsadogslife [gb] Date 28.04.12 13:52 UTC
Reminds me a bit of pyramid selling :(

Those poor dogs going to inexperienced people and treated like a commodity - I don't know how they sleep at night!!!

Have contacted Admin, silly me, remembered how to do it after all...!!

Wd people really go for this? It wd be cheaper just to buy a few dogs, not that I wd advocate that in any way either.

Perhaps everyone who does not approve of this should be sending this to DEFRA and saying why it is a bad idea, especially as they are looking at bringing in a dog license under the disguise of a compulsory micro-chip law, also send a screen capture to the RSPCA (you never know they might do something) and your own MP.

My complaint is already on it's way to john Bercow my MP.
- By tricolourlover [gb] Date 30.04.12 20:02 UTC
Good idea Polly. :-)

How is this acceptable in this day and age?!
- By Stooge Date 30.04.12 20:11 UTC
It is very shocking but what do we want our MP to do?  I can't think they are doing anything illegal and which part of it would we want to be illegal?  Breeding dogs?  Breeding dogs out on loan?  Selling dogs capable of being bred?
