Today, yes. And I can't see the ground drying out enough to use tomorrow or Sunday.

Wellies waterproofs and wet wipes. Alot of puddles and mud. Dread to think what it will be like sunday. indoor halls were packed today. struggled to get to the ring.

Ugh, sounds like it's going to be a lovely day! :-)

A friend is camping there and people are being towed out after getting bogged in!!

Well just got back from a wet week at the caravan (2 humans and 5 dogs in crates in van), had dogs bathed for last weeks club show and apart from the legs they have stayed clean (just dodged teh showers), so wet wipes and soak up cloth.

Already boggy, so take wellies for everyone :)

Will definitely take my wellies on Sunday and just praying that the car doesn't get stuck in the mud.

White fluffy footed dogs in my case - yikes! Oh well, I have the advantage that my dogs are not good enough quality to have had a chance even if they'd stayed clean! I am just going to take my jeans and wellies and work through my shopping list. :-)
I was going to spectate.....I'm wondering if I want to now

To anyone going to WELKS dress up VERY warm, take wellies and be prepared to wallow in the mud around the stands !! for those in the benching tents take lots of blankets and coats for the dogs - the border collies were all shivering today - in the same benches tomorrow are the greyhounds, ridgebacks, bloodhounds, not sure if deerhounds but be warned they are like wind tunnels !!!

Does anyone know what the parking situation is like? I'll be there on Sunday.

Some parking today was on grass, so expect the worst... If it turns out ok then be happy (ever the pessimist, me lol).
To the poster who is going to spectate, wrap up warm wear wellies, and enjoy :) You'll get a lot wetter and muddier on a decent walk this weekend almost anywhere in theUK, so count your blessings :)

Do they have someone there towing cars for those parked on the grass? The van we'll be taking doesn't do so well in the mud.

Thanks! I'm off to get the fleecy coats out as well as the rain coats. Oh yes, and a fleece for me too!

It was freezing there yesterday so definatly wrap up warm, as in the shacks all the doors are left open either end its like a wind tuinnel, yesterday was the worst show ive been to in a long time- it just felt miserable even though ihad a succesfull day.
Any update for how the grounds are there today? Are cars getting out ok?

I agree. I was SO cold. They put the heating on in the Severn Hall, mid morning, but until then it was freezing watching classes.
I saw one car struggle, it's not nice but the car park didn't look too bad when we left Saturday afternoon, I think a lot more rain has fallen again now though... Anyone else disgusted with the provisions i.e. for us particularly, being expected to stand your table dogs on 2 tiny old car mats which slip all over the table? The 2 mats went in opposite directions when I tried to stand one of mine, leaving her in a heap just as the judge was about to go over her :-( Really unsettled her, any chance gone. Is that what we pay good money for? I'm furious and going to write to WELKS, they can't help the weather but they can do much better than that, the least we deserve is something acceptable to stand our dogs on. I'd expect better than that at a £1 entry comnpanion show. No wonder people are giving up showing. Really poor treatment.

I agree, my one boy is a right cowardly custard and it really bothered him as they were placed far apart so he was stood awkard, surely if they'd of put a SOS for tables out exhibitors would of bought them for the show, i have done before.

Our tables were fine in the Severn Annex, but my older girl found the floor quite slippy, to me it was no worse than many venues, but I've never seen Ellie slide around so much!

Arrived home very tired at 9pm this evening.Although very wet and cold outside it was relatively tropical in the severn hall compared to the tents and cattle sheds where my friends were .
We did have mats on tables but they looked like grooming mats and not car mats. Agree that the floor was slippy but I always apply paw wax when I see shiny floors and it worked a treat as my boy had no problems walking and won his final junior class.
Overheard a lady telling someone she thought she was going to die in her caravan last night as it was so stormy, and heard that several awnings flew away during the night!
Roll on the national!

I got back at 8pm after having to help my friend get her dogs and stuff the last half mile to her house as the ford by it was flooded and the road was closed. When I got home I found hubby had given the other 2 dogs a lovely walk and Hetty had rolled in something disgusting and had to be bathed!!! Oh well, looking at Ellie's shiny Crufts Qualifying rosette cheered me up no end! :-D
